What do I do when I have an accident?
It is always important to see your medical practitioner after an accident. Even if you do not feel sore/stiff/injured. This way, there is a medical record for your health status and your doctor can provide a referral for other treatment/scans/tests that might be required.
Steps to obtaining Workers Compensation in WA:
Receive a Doctor’s review and referral to Physiotherapy treatment
Get your claim number
Get your case manager’s name and personal contact number
Start a folder containing all documents associated with this accident
Get receipts for everything - medication, appointments, etc., and put them in the folder
Bring this folder with you to all medical appointments
How soon should I make an appointment?
Do I need a referral to come and see you?
No you don't initially. You can always come in as a private client ASAP to receive treatment.
However, if you are wanting to put a claim in, you will need a doctor’s referral that is backdated to your initial appointment date so you can get covered.
Our Physiotherapists can create a plan of action and offer recommendations to help with your care and return to a normal, pain-free life!
Claim number and payment responsibility
If you have not received a claim number or are unsure of the outcome of your claim, please note that we will submit the invoice to your insurance company on your behalf. However, if your claim is denied or the Insurance does not provide remittance, you may be responsible for making the payment.
