Frequently Asked Questions…

Does it hurt?

NO! Functional Cupping does not need to hurt to be effective. An experienced Remedial Massage Therapist should be able perform a cupping session with no pain felt only slight pressure.

When should I get Cupping?

This is totally dependent on your goals, there is no one size fits all approach, however here is a little guide developed in collaboration by our massage clients and our Remedial Massage team.

Is it a mark or a bruise?

The pressure difference between the skin surface and the underlying blood vessels produced by the cupping increases the amount of blood flow to the area and can give the appearance of a bruise however, there is no tissue damage to the area.

A mark can last up to around 2 weeks.
